From the same company that delivered PopBooth, Storyboarder, and Postagram comes Dotti, an app that turns your iPhone or Android into a "disposable camera". For a given "roll of film", you take up to 12 pictures, then order 4x6-inch glossy prints for mail delivery for just $4.99.

Now, there isn't anything ground-breaking about this app. You take pictures and order prints. Other camera apps do this and more. Hipstamatic, for example, offers users meta-functionality over Dotti like creating albums, stacks, tagging and public sharing on social networks. In contrast, Dotti makes it dead simple to take pictures and have them printed and delivered to your door.

From the people at Sincerely comes PopBooth, a simple and easy-to-use app that leverages the camera to mimic those photo booth strips you typically see at the mall these days. Just like a photo booth camera, it takes four sequential photographs semi-rapidly.

After your photos are taken, you have six color treatment options to apply. When you're done with your selection, you are prompted to print and mail the finished product to one or more recipients.

The UI is simple yet beautifully-designed. PopBooth is a fine example of an app that narrows functionality to a small set of simple tasks. But its genius is in the offline rev-gen component.

So when she writes about tools for social media management, you know she's invested in the article and probably uses these tools herself. Though the title calls for a review of 5 tools, Meghan offers more tools too look at for each category of SMMS she covers.

3. List of Social Media Management Systems (SMMS)
Altimeter Industry Analyst, Jeremiah Owyang, dives deep into what SMMS are, how they work and offers an extensive list of systems available to the market. The descriptions are brief and are not extremely helpful but they do give a general idea of what you can expect. Owyang's list includes a list of 31 services.

4. Top 10 analytics tools for social media
This blog post on iMedia Connection, written by Adam Boyden, covers paid, low-cost and free SMMS with a focus on analytics — perhaps the most coveted feature in any SMMS by marketers.

5. The State and Future of the Social Media Management System Space
This article is less about the specific systems that are widely available and more about the advent of SMMS as a space in the social business category. The article guides interested users on what to look for in a SMMS and does drop a few names for readers to look at like CoTweet, Hootsuite, and Spredfast.

Meg Frampton and Chandler the Robot

My first post. Why am I putting a video of Meg Frampton, of Meg and Dia (the rock band from Utah, ICYW), showing her inspiration for making Chandler the Robot jewelry? Well, it's a mix of reasons really. First, I'm a fan of Meg and Dia's music. Second, I have an interest in the lifestyles and interests of Asian Americans ~~(I also post on Tumblr at alienasian.tumblr.com)~~. And, third, I'm just intrigued by Meg's other creative facets — her jewelry making and her general outlook on life.

I'm a creative person. I've worked as a professional designer for over twelve years, but I've also been into drawing and writing (both expository and creative). I enjoy listening and observing how others express their creativity. In fact, I try to surround myself with creative people. Their energy and their work inspire me. So with this video, Meg inspires me with her ideas and how her obsession with NBC's "Friends" and the character, Chandler, is the impetus behind her jewelry-making. Go, Meg!
